Fourth Indian Provincial Chapter - 2026
Day-4
Indian Provincial Chapter 2026

January 26, 2026

Dear Sisters,

Today, Fr. Michael, in his homily, enlightened us with a powerful reflection drawn from St. Paul’s Letter to the Corinthians, where Paul laments the divisions within the Church. This reality remains strikingly relevant even today. We continue to experience divisions and factions—not only within the Church, but also in society and across the world. Unity is under threat, and building genuine community has become an ongoing challenge.

Fr. Michael reminded us that only truth can set us free, yet truth itself is often vulnerable to manipulation. True freedom comes from a deep relationship with Christ and from believing that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Truth is not merely an idea or concept; truth is a Person—Jesus Christ. Only He can restore our dignity and give meaning to our lives.

He invited us to widen our horizons and to place our deepest loyalty not in the world, but in Jesus. This is the vision and mission of Christ. Jesus repeatedly spoke of the Kingdom of God—a new consciousness, a new way of seeing and living. He taught us that life can be lived differently: our values can be different, our relationships can be different. As followers of Jesus, we are constantly challenged to live out this countercultural way of life.

In the Kingdom of God, the ‘other person’ comes first; love is central. The very first call of Jesus to His disciples was, “Repent and believe.” To repent means to change our direction—to transform our way of thinking, our attitudes, and our outlook on life. As religious, we are continually invited to grow in this new consciousness, much like a pilgrim journeying inward and outward at the same time.

In his first session, Brother Philip Pinto led us through a moving presentation, calling us to take responsibility for our own lives. After which he asked us to move into group discussions on the Collated Issues: Vocation and Formation, Community Living, Restructuring of Ministries, Financial Stability, Membership and Demographics, and Faith Formation—expanding the spiritual search.

In the afternoon Sister M. Margarete presented the statistics of the Congregation and the Indian Province and shared her impressions of our deep desire for renewal, transformation, and greater involvement of the laity in our ministries. She reminded us that our charism is a precious gift from God, entrusted to us for the life of the Church and the world. Following this, we worked on proposals both in small groups and in the plenary session.

Fr. Michael concluded the session with a profound thought on transformation and change—calling us to listen with the heart like King Solomon and to ponder with a contemplative heart like Mother Mary. This invitation echoed like a gentle yet firm call to inner silence, deeper listening, and faithful response.

With best regards,
