Fourth Indian Provincial Chapter - 2026
Day-3

January 25, 2026
Dear Sisters,
We began our day with a profound reflection on generative listening: the sacred art of slowing down and paying attention to the present moment. We were invited to listen with all our senses, to words and images, as well as the emotions conveyed without judgment. Like St. John, who rested his head on Jesus’ heart and listened to its gentle beat, we too are called to listen deeply. This kind of attentive listening can be a source of inner transformation and renewed energy.
We reflected on our vocations and formations, understanding them as calls not only to save our own souls, but also to accompany others on their journeys toward salvation. At the heart of this calling is an earnest and continuous pursuit of God. True love invites us to move away from self-centeredness and put others at the center of our attention.
This is how Jesus lived and taught. Rather than setting out to create vocations, He shared the depth of His own experience with Abba—an intimate relationship that completely transformed His life. Just as a fish out of water struggles to survive, Jesus calls us to step out of our comfort zones and allow our lives to be reshaped. As Pope Francis challenges us, we are called to "wake up the world".
Jesus’ life was a constant realization of who God is, as well as a living revelation of God to the world. Similarly, the purpose of our lives is to recognize our God and demonstrate Him through our attitudes, choices, and way of life. With these insights, we were sent forth to reflect prayerfully on a few guiding questions:
- What essential elements of a Congregational vision for the future is God calling us to at this time?
- What is the “new” that God is inviting us to embrace?
- What is it time to let go of?
- What was the Spirit whispering to us during the moments of silence?
Today’s afternoon session we attentively listened to the sharing of experiences from the outgoing leadership of the past four years. It was a deeply touching and enlightening moment. Thereafter, the Chapter Body expressed heartfelt gratitude to them, on behalf of the entire Province, for their selfless service and dedicated commitment.
In the concluding session, Fr. Michael Plattig offered a meaningful reminder. The soul, he said, is the eternal center of the person; therefore, we are called to be at home with ourselves. Obedience means being faithful to the reality of time, daily challenges, and humbly accepting our own imperfections. Leadership, he emphasized, is always a shared responsibility—both a treasure and a challenge.
With warm greetings,
